We took the puppies outside again today to explore. They are loving every opportunity they can get to run and play. Digging in the dirt has become a very popular pastime around the doodle ranch. I know it's not a pastime that families want their dogs to have, but it's such a great exercise for them. Physically and emotionally. It will be up to you if you will allow them to dig in a designated area when they come home. They are all so stinkin cute! When our puppies have been vaccinated and the moms are comfortable, we start introducing our older dogs to them gradually. Lucy's puppies did great! They were very responsive to the interaction they received from Magnum and Bella. Time is always the fun part. The nautier they try to be, there will be more eyes on them. They will be put right back into place by the pack. The joys of having puppies! We continue this process until the pups go home. We interact with them in the litter environment, and our environment Exposing them to new environments has been proven to help with any dog become less timid when entering new places. Lots of love and encouragement!!!
We have noticed that if we take a puppy away from the litter at this age for some time, it helps them to trust a human more. We wait until they become very submissive before returning them. Typically, they end up falling asleep. We love them!! Even if they stick their tongues out at us. lol
I walked into the puppies room to change their bedding again and look who just walked in. Can you believe this girl? I didn't even recognize her. What a muddy mess! How do you spell N-A-U-G-H-T-Y? Does she not think that her puppies will know she's been digging in the mud? LOL Obviously she doesn't care.
I think she's actually quite proud of herself. Whatever it takes to keep a gal with 7 babes happy!!!!!!!! |
