So I'm minding my own business in my own room when Kristin comes in. She asks me if I needed to go outside to potty. Of course I did! I quickly jump out of my litter bed and left my puppies sleeping. I can go potty and be right back before any of them wake up. Thats where it got kinda funny. No sooner than I walked out the door, the other door closes. No big deal, right? Right! That's where the story gets even better. I do my business and am ready to come back in but my doggy access door is locked. I try again and its the same thing. It's locked. In the middle of the day? Maybe it's an accident? I thought to myself barking has worked before so I bark. Still--nothing. How could this be? I've got puppies inside that need me. They need me now! What should I do? Check the gates? Ok! Great idea. They are locked too. Waste of time. ugh!!! What is going on? deck stairs? Nope. Those are locked too. Then I hear her. She's calling me. I run to her and go through the door. I hear my babies calling for me. It's a different cry too. I get to the bed. I smell something different. I count to make sure all six of them are there. yep! They still smell different. I count toes (if you're a parent, you know what I mean when I say that). HMMMMMM? That's it--I know what happened. That darn vet wanted to see them and then he removed their dew claws. They put their hands on my babies. Do they know who they are dealing with? Obviously NOT! Why couldn't they have just told me? I just can't be bothered right now with the drama. They (my puppies) are safe now and I won't be leaving them again anytime soon. Besides, I've heard how much more painful they can be if not removed and getting them snagged on a blanket or carpet. Ouch! I mean, I guess its ok. I'm just going to lie here and take a little nap with them.
